Pink peppercorn Coriander Rhubarb Gardenia Blackcurrant leaf Frankincense Cade oil Sandalwood Vanilla absolute

Composed by Amelie Bourgeois

This ritual doesn't begin with a calm smoke, but with pink pepper and a tart cut of rhubarb. NOÈME PARIS Aman first awakens the space, and only then fills it with flowers, resin, and black vanilla.

Pink pepper, rhubarb, and coriander open the composition vibrantly, greenly, and spicily. The fruity tartness of rhubarb does not become a sweet compote because the spices keep it taut and somewhat raw.

Gardenia then introduces a creamy floral fullness, while blackcurrant bud absolute adds a dark, tart fruitiness. Incense passes through both and creates a more serious, resinous middle without removing the unusual freshness of the opening.

Amelie Bourgeois composed Aman as an olfactory representation of a shamanic ritual and the transition between the visible and the invisible. The story sounds mystical, but the composition remains concrete: tart stem, white flower, smoke, and burnt wood.

In the base, black vanilla softens sandalwood, while cade leaves a dry, smoky, and almost charred trail. Sweetness appears late and never completely covers the green sharpness of rhubarb or the resinous frankincense.

Aman is not a pleasant vanilla gourmand with a few spices. It is rhubarb that ends in cade, sandalwood, and black vanilla — a ritual with enough smoke to smell of fire afterwards.

One user particularly emphasized that it was beautiful: initially floral, then with sandalwood and vanilla, and the rhubarb was excellently rendered with just a hint of a sour note.
