Amygdala

A small, almond-shaped part of the brain controls fear, emotions, and olfactory memories. MENDITTOROSA Amygdala doesn't try to depict it with scent; it aims to evoke that quick change in facial expression before reason can explain what happened.

Pink pepper and Arabica coffee give the opening energy and a sharp contrast. Cinnamon adds warmth, while galbanum cuts through the darker coffee with a green, almost electric sharpness.

Jasmine sambac, violet absolute, orange blossom, and ylang-ylang then open up a vast floral field. It's not arranged like a neat bouquet: each flower pulls in a different direction, much like the numerous connections between neurons that served as visual inspiration.

Luca Maffei created this Talisman Extreme at a 35 percent concentration, collaborating with Stefania Squeglia, Mendittorosa's founder and a master of psychology. As a starting point, they used an image of brain hemispheres in which Maffei recognized a vast floral shape.

Guaiac wood, vetiver, and labdanum later ground the flowers in a smoky, resinous base. The power doesn't dissipate, but the initial flashes of pepper and coffee transform into a darker, long-lasting trail.

Amygdala is not a quiet background perfume. It is coffee hit with pepper, galbanum, and violet — a scent made to trigger a reaction first, and only then the question of why.
