Composed by Benoist Lapouza

What happens when you add a few ice cubes and a good dose of citrus to that famous glass of Angels' Share?

You get KILIAN PARIS Angels' Share On The Rocks.

The idea comes directly from Kilian Hennessy and the way he likes to drink cognac – on the rocks. That's why Benoist Lapouza opens the familiar warmth of Angels' Share here in a completely different way: with a special On the Rocks accord that combines bergamot, grapefruit, and aldehydes, giving an almost crystal-cold, sparkling impression. The official pyramid additionally lists bitter orange in the opening.

In the first few minutes, you might almost forget you're dealing with the Angels' Share family. The citruses are bright, cold, and slightly bitter, with the familiar gourmand sweetness remaining in the background.

But the ice slowly melts.

Beneath the citruses, cognac and cinnamon appear, along with myrrh and rich tonka, and then oak. As it develops, it once again approaches the familiar Angels' Share DNA – just with a lot more air around it.

That's why we wouldn't simply call it a “summer Angels' Share”. On The Rocks is fresher and airier, but beneath the cool opening, a warm, sweet, and alcoholic base still hides. It's more like an Angels' Share for which someone opened a window than a completely new fresh cologne.

That's precisely why it could be an excellent choice for people who find the original fascinating but sometimes simply too sweet or heavy.

On The Rocks retains cognac, cinnamon, tonka, and oak, but the citrus bitterness and cold aldehydic effect create an interesting contrast: first a cold glass, then warm cognac.

One user describes the opening as a real citrus burst, after which the scent transforms into a sweet, spicy, and alcoholic combination of cognac, cinnamon, and tonka. Another specifically praises the way the citrus freshness cuts through the original's richness.

One experience very nicely describes the development: refreshing citrus at first, then slightly alcoholic cinnamon, and finally tonka and woody notes. The community generally considers it a lighter and fresher member of the Angels' Share family.

One owner, who prefers less sweet perfumes, describes On The Rocks as a cold, slightly alcoholic cognac served in a chilled glass, after which the drydown becomes softer, sweeter, and more powdery.
