Composed by Céline Barel

Ski boots stay by the entrance, the chalet door closes, and the cold from the slopes is replaced by the warmth of wood. CASA FAR NIENTE Après Alpine begins precisely in that transition between snow and a heated interior.

Croissant and almond milk give the opening a creamy texture, but don't lead it toward a sweet pastry. The impression is more milky and soft than edible.

Iris lays a dry, powdery layer over this warmth. Its cooler elegance keeps the composition upright and prevents the almond milk and vanilla from becoming too sweet.

Sandalwood and amber create the sensation of heated wood, while vanilla remains quiet and smooth. A almost sauna-like warmth develops on the skin: clean, dry, and comfortable, without a heavy gourmand finish.

Céline Barel created Après Alpine as an Extrait de Parfum with 25% fragrance oils in a 100ml edition. It's for you if you love creamy, powdery, and woody scents; it's not if you read the name croissant as a promise of a patisserie. Après Alpine doesn't smell like a dessert after skiing, but like the warmth that makes you never want to go outside again.

I'm glad I decided to try it because it's unique and beautiful. The brand story fits the scent quite well: like pastries after a day on the slopes, but even more so like a five-star resort sauna. I smell warmed sauna wood, a faint iris aura, and the creaminess of smooth sandalwood. The croissant has puffs of vanilla and almond milk that contribute to the creamy impression. It's not sweet, just creamy. It's not a gourmand, but a relaxing, calm woody spa scent.
