Composed by Claude Dir

The true treasure of this perfume is not hidden in the black bottle, but in the oil that Himba women traditionally extract from the Namibian Bushman Candle plant. ZAHAROFF Basileus Precious Treasure builds a spicy, woody story of encounter, not just exoticism, around this material.

Cardamom, timur and Sichuan pepper open the fragrance dry and electric. The peppers are not uniformly hot: one carries a citrus spark, the other a tingle, while cardamom leaves a cooler aromatic note.

Star jasmine and wild freesia momentarily aerate the spices. Beneath them, blue cedar, Bushman Candle, and frankincense tears create an earthy, resinous core that feels rough around the edges but very rich in depth.

Claude Dir created the composition after a conversation with George Zaharoff about the ancient oil and sustainable harvesting. Zaharoff then traveled to the Skeleton Coast and presented the finished perfume to the Himba women, describing the encounter as more important than the business story itself.

Tonka, bourbon vanilla, and Orcanox smooth the base, while ebony, sandalwood, oakmoss, and leather musk preserve its dark character. The sweetness comes on creamy, but the pepper and resins do not disappear.

Precious Treasure is not royal because of the amount of gold in the story. Its signature is Namibian Bushman Candle between cardamom, frankincense, and ebony — a treasure that only makes sense when you know whose hands protect it.

Several people confirmed that it is an exceptionally beautiful, highly niche fragrance of quiet luxury, frankincense, and spicy greenery.
