Fruit Bat first takes you to a feast, then abruptly drops you into a cave from which you can no longer see the exit. ZOOLOGIST Bat (2020) combines tropical sweetness with wet earth, minerals, and thousands of leathery wings.
Fig, passionfruit, and pink guava open the scent ripe, juicy, and almost oversaturated. Hay beneath the fruit adds a dry, herbal texture, like a transition from canopy to ground.
An accord of earth, minerals, and moss-covered stones then takes over the space. Night-blooming jasmine and frankincense remain trapped between damp roots and cool walls, creating a floral scent that is neither bright nor tidy.
Prim Lomros builds this 2020 version as a nocturnal journey from the tropical jungle to the bat's home. Zoologist uses no animal products; the animalic and leathery effects are achieved with synthetic materials.
Teakwood and vetiver later dry out some of the moisture, but the animalic tones and leather remain close. The fruit recedes into the background, like a sweet breath still coming from the cave entrance.
Bat is not a tropical beach perfume. It is guava over wet earth, leather, and mossy stones — a feast you eat hanging upside down in complete darkness.
