Cuir

The leather doesn't have to show its teeth right away. LE GALION Cuir first illuminates it with bergamot and resinous elemi, then softens it with white floral before revealing its full woody power.

Bergamot and elemi open the composition with a citrusy, aromatic, and slightly peppery scent. Elemi provides a resinous firmness that makes the freshness feel not delicate, but upright and confident.

The leather appears quickly, smooth yet robust. Lily runs through it like a white, cool line, calming the raw darkness without turning the perfume into a floral composition.

With this fragrance, Vanina Murraciole pays homage to Paul Vacher's leather works. Early in his career, he co-created Lanvin Scandal, and in the early sixties, he composed the scent for Dior that would become Diorling.

Ambergris, sandalwood, and musk later smooth the leather and give it a warmer trail. The perfume remains between emancipated femininity and demonstrative masculinity, without clearly leaning towards one side.

Cuir is neither a smoky biker jacket nor a soft vanilla suede. It is elegant leather cut with elemi, lily, and ambergris — an heir to the great leather perfumes that still holds its chin up.
