Elephant

After the herd passes, broken branches and uprooted roots remain, but it is precisely this mess that opens up space for new life. ZOOLOGIST Elephant smells of damp leaves, tea, coconut, cocoa, and wood slowly emerging from beneath the green mass.

Leaves and Darjeeling tea open the composition green, aromatic, and slightly tart. Magnolia adds floral smoothness, while frankincense already hints at a drier depth.

Coconut milk and cocoa appear in traces, creamy and warm among the damp herbs. Jasmine connects them with magnolia, without turning the perfume into a tropical gourmand.

Chris Bartlett builds the scent patiently, like a herd stripping bark and leaves from trees. In 2018, Elephant was a finalist for the Art & Olfaction Awards in the independent category.

Patchouli, sandalwood, amber, wood, and musks gradually emerge from beneath the canopies. Zoologist does not use animal products; the musky notes are synthetically derived.

Elephant is not just a green perfume of great volume. It is Darjeeling with coconut milk and cocoa over naturally fragrant sandalwood — a trace of destruction from which a new forest is already emerging.
