Mandarin Bergamot Hazelnut Mastic Iris Geranium Frankincense Benzoin Labdanum

Composed by Jean-Christophe Hérault

Sacred white copal from Mexico and mastic from a loud Greek party do not belong to the same ritual. JACQUES FATH Encens Copal puts them in the same composition and gets an incense that is both serious and surprisingly lively.

Bergamot and mandarin essence open the perfume brightly, while hazelnut adds a dry, slightly creamy texture. Mastic then introduces a green, resinous, and almost liqueur-like tone.

Iris concrete and geranium oil create a cooler floral transition. Their neatness prepares the space for incense without turning the composition into typical church smoke.

Creative director Rania Naim found inspiration during her stay in Mexico, where she encountered Copal Blanc, a sacred offering of the Maya and Aztecs. She added Mediterranean mastic as a memory of vibrant Greek celebrations.

Jean-Christophe Hérault combines fresh frankincense essence with resinoid, labdanum, and benzoin. The finish is warmer, balsamic, and resinous, but citrus and mastic leave enough airiness.

Encens Copal is not a quiet chapel scent. It is white copal between mandarin, mastic, iris, and benzoin — sacred smoke that stopped by a Mediterranean party on its way.
