Composed by Vanina Murraciole

If a music room could be translated into a scent, it would probably have the glow of mandarin, dark leather, and the smoke of incense. LE GALION Aesthete builds its melody not from notes that neatly alternate, but from materials that push and complement each other.

Davana and mandarin give the opening a fruity, almost liqueur-like hue. Davana is not innocently sweet; its aromatic warmth immediately latches onto saffron, frankincense, and leather, so the brighter introduction quickly turns into something golden and smoky.

Oud and guaiac wood give depth to the composition, while castoreum enhances the animalic edge of the leather. Jasmine weaves through this dark ensemble like a brief floral spark, without attempting to soften it into a classic floral perfume.

Vanina Murraciole created Aesthete in 2015 as a tribute to Paul Vacher's love for art, especially music. Vacher was a friend of Maurice Ravel, and Le Galion compares his perfectionism to the work of a composer who precisely arranges each instrument.

Sandalwood, vanilla, and musk later round out the leather and oud. The scent becomes smoother and slower, but does not lose its richness; it merely transforms from a loud orchestra into a deep final chord that lingers in the room.

If you like airy citrus perfumes, davana will quickly take you too far here. Aesthete is liqueur fruit over oriental leather — more Ravel's music room than a quiet gallery.
