Gold Spot

Dark chocolate and oud usually enclose a space, but here, orange blossom illuminates them like gold under a spotlight. SARAH BAKER Gold Spot is at once dark, brilliant, and completely unburdened by the idea of moderation.

Orange blossom, bergamot, and neroli open the extrait bitter, floral, and sparkling. Petitgrain adds a green edge, while cypriol already introduces a dry, earthy shade.

Dark chocolate and butterscotch then melt over Laotian oud. The chocolate is bitter, the caramel golden sweet, and the oud dark enough that the entire middle doesn't end up as a dessert.

Christian Carbonnel uses two oud dimensions: Laotian oud and Suyufi agarwood. Their woody depth carries the gourmand materials instead of merely serving as a discreet ornament in the base.

Musk, amber, vanilla, and sweet myrrh later further thicken the sillage. Citrus recedes, but orange blossom remains like a bright reflection above the melted chocolate and resins.

Gold Spot is not a chocolate perfume with a touch of oud. It is natural oud drenched in butterscotch, dark chocolate, and sweet myrrh — a black surface that suddenly turns golden under the light.
