Composed by Shelley Waddington

A hummingbird does not choose a single flower; it hovers through the whole garden, takes a drop of nectar, and is already gone to the next color. ZOOLOGIST Hummingbird does the same through cherry, plum, lilac, honey, and almost an entire pastel flower garden.

Apple, cherry, citrus, and plum give the opening a light, juicy sweetness. Lilac, lily of the valley, and rose then open the first layer of flowers.

Honeysuckle, mimosa, peony, tulip, ylang-ylang, and violet leaf turn it into a large pastel bouquet. Honey connects the flowers with nectar, but the scent retains the airiness of fast wings.

Shelley Waddington leads the composition from the perspective of a hummingbird for whom the world is an endless kaleidoscope of food and color. Fragrantica listed it among the best indie and niche perfumes of the previous decade in 2020.

Cream, amber, coumarin, moss, sandalwood, white wood, and musks later create a soft nest. Zoologist does not use animal products; the musks are synthetic.

Hummingbird is not a discreet single-note floral scent. It is a honeyed nectar of cherry, lilac, and mimosa in a nest of cream and moss — a garden experienced with the speed of wings you can barely see.
