Composed by Gino Percontino
Vanilla ice cream sounds harmless until you pour absinthe, blackcurrant, and frozen passion fruit over it. THE GATE Inside Out takes a familiar pleasure and turns it to the green, bitter side.
Iced mandarin, passion fruit, and sorbet open the composition cold, tart, and juicy. Blackcurrant and its buds add a dark, tart, and almost animalic fruitiness.
Thai basil, rosemary, absinthe, and wormwood then cut through the fruit with bitter aromatic greenery. The scent transforms from a cold dessert into something much more unpredictable.
Gino Percontino builds the composition around honesty and the courage to turn hidden desires inside out. Seduction here is not just sweet; it also involves bitterness that reveals what lies beneath the surface.
Frangipani and magnolia introduce a creamy florality before the vanilla ice cream softens the finish. Absinthe and blackcurrant buds, however, linger long enough that the base never becomes entirely innocent.
Inside Out is not an ordinary fruity-vanilla gourmand. It is vanilla ice cream with absinthe, blackcurrant buds, and iced passion fruit — a secret served inside out, with no possibility of putting it back in.
