Composed by Christian Carbonnel & Sultan Pasha

Imagine an iris from a 1940s French salon, but strip away its grey seriousness and color it with peach, violet, and spices. SULTAN PASHA Irisoir is a lavish extrait that has no intention of remaining demurely powdery.

Iris absolute, violet, and heliotrope build a soft, full surface, while lilac brightens it. Peach gives it color and ripe juiciness, not a sugary fruit topping.

Iris butter deepens the creamy texture while carnation introduces a spicy tension. Tuberose, jasmine, and rose then expand the heart into a true salon bouquet, grand and openly luxurious.

Christian Carbonnel and Sultan Pasha took classic French iris perfumes of the 1940s and 1950s as a starting point, but deliberately avoided their cold, grey aspects. The result feels historically informed, rather than a literal reconstruction.

Violet leaf connects the flowers to a greener edge, while ambergris, styrax, and tonka absolute warm the finish. Mysore sandalwood, cedar, Haitian vetiver, and musk keep the richness upright long after the peach subsides.

If you only like iris quiet, rooty, and ascetic, Irisoir will be too festive for you. This is iris butter in peach tones, surrounded by tuberose, carnation, and Mysore sandalwood — an evening out, not a grey morning shirt.

Several people confirmed that the iris here is warm and botanical, and the carnation gives it a spicy depth that makes it exceptional.
