Bergamot Frankincense Magnolia Benzoin Cypriol or Nagarmotha oil Labdanum Virginia Cedarwood Patchouli

Composed by Camille Chemardin

Ithaka here is not a postcard of a Greek island, but the reason why you leave port at all. MENDITTOROSA Ithaka smells of a journey that becomes more important than the destination: bright at the departure, resinous and deep after everything gathered along the way.

Bergamot and aquatic magnolia open the extrait airy, citrusy and slightly moist. This is not a literal marine accord, but more like the morning light over the harbor before the first sailing.

Frankincense soon changes perspective. Patchouli and labdanum give it earthiness and warmth, and frankincense resinoid deepens the smoke until the initial magnolia begins to look like a memory of the shore.

Camille Chemardin created the first fragrance of Versi Studio, an imagined trilogy about the meeting of poetry and perfume. The inspiration is Cavafy's "Ithaka", a poem first published in 1911, in which the island is valuable precisely because it initiated a long journey.

Virginian cedar, cypriol, and benzoin later create a dry, dark, and slightly sweet base. On the skin, the bergamot recedes, the magnolia remains a thin bright line, and the resins carry the weight of acquired experience.

On the hand-carved plaque of the bottle, there is a small boat on the sea. That is exactly how the finish smells: a cedar ship that, through frankincense, labdanum, and benzoin, still keeps Ithaka before it.

Several people have confirmed that it is a cheerful, well-rounded blend of bergamot and frankincense, great for summer and as a refresher.
