Les Frivolités

A rose macaron served on suede sounds playful, but behind the sweet facade lies a seriously sensual leather perfume. JACQUES FATH Les Frivolités begins as a flirtation and ends much closer to the body than a dessert plate.

Bergamot and Paradisamide give the Eau de Parfum a bright, fresh opening. Osmanthus brings a fruity-leathery softness, while pink pepper briefly sparkles before the Rosa Centifolia absolute and rose macaron accord unfold.

The rose is simultaneously a real petal and an imagined confection. The gourmand side remains refined, not sticky; the flower retains depth while the macaron accord around it creates a soft, almond-sweet illusion.

Luca Maffei builds the composition as a cascade of joyful, gourmand, and animalic impressions. What initially seems delicate gradually reveals its strength, especially as the suede begins to envelop the floral heart.

Iris butter enhances the creamy leather texture, and sandalwood, amber, and musk leave a warm velvety finish. Bergamot fades, while the rose on the skin becomes smoother, darker, and more sensual.

Les Frivolités is neither a classic rose nor a literal French patisserie scent. It's a rose macaron on suede, glazed with iris butter and warm musk — a frivolity that knows very well what it's doing.
