Lily of the Valley

Spring after the war here is not a grand triumphant fanfare, but a humid breeze and the first lily of the valley returning from the earth. LE GALION Lily of the Valley was created in 1948 as a scent of renewal and new beginnings.

Lily of the Valley leads the composition through green, floral, and slightly damp aspects. Hedione gives it airiness and a sense of opening, so the flower doesn't feel like a dense soap but like something just found in cold grass.

Rose and jasmine complement the spring landscape without usurping the main role. Rose brings a delicate color, jasmine a little warmth, while the lily of the valley remains bright and upright between them.

Paul Vacher created the formula eight years before lily of the valley became the star of Diorissimo in 1956. Domitille Michalon-Bertier renewed it in 2020, preserving its simple symbolism and airiness.

Musk and ambrox build a clean, slightly woody base on the skin. The dampness of the flower gradually dries, but the green trace remains alive, like a stem still felt on the fingers.

Lily of the Valley is not a bombastic white bouquet. It is lily of the valley after a spring rain, with rose, jasmine, and quiet musk — post-war hope enclosed in a flower eight years before Diorissimo.
