L'Iris de Fath

Here, the iris root is not grey dust, but a purple, woody core illuminated by peach and bergamot. JACQUES FATH L'Iris de Fath Eau de Parfum builds its new formula around the same famous material, but with a more mobile, fruitier character.

Violet leaf absolute and bergamot open the composition green and bright. Peach immediately softens the sharpness, and then iris butter appears, soft, powdery, and at once rooty and woody.

Egyptian jasmine, Turkish rose, violet, lilac, carnation, and ylang-ylang create a wide bouquet around the iris. Carnation adds spice, while peach remains like a warm blush over cooler floral tones.

Patrice Revillard used Firmenich's Orriscience technology, which stimulates the natural development of irones in the rhizome, the molecule responsible for the characteristic iris scent. Steam distillation yields a rich butter with a remarkably true-to-life root face.

Bourbon vetiver, benzoin, tonka, and musk later bring the flowers down to earth. The powder becomes warmer, but vetiver maintains a dry structure and prevents the peach and tonka from becoming too sweet.
