Love, Don't Be Shy

There are sweet perfumes. And then there's Love, Don't Be Shy by KILIAN PARIS.

This is a perfume that very quickly explains its own name – there is nothing shy about the combination of orange blossom, neroli, rose, and marshmallow that develops on the skin. But behind its almost edible sweetness lies a seriously crafted floral composition that prevents Love, Don't Be Shy from being just a perfumed version of a bag of candy.

The perfumer Calice Becker opens the composition with neroli, followed by rose and honeysuckle, enveloped in a soft marshmallow accord. A warm amber base and labdanum give the whole story depth and sensuality. It is precisely because of this that this KILIAN PARIS perfume can simultaneously resemble marshmallow, caramelized sugar, and orange blossom – sweet, yet distinctly perfumed.

It's interesting that Love, Don't Be Shy was the first fragrance Kilian Hennessy created for KILIAN PARIS. His idea was to create a gourmand that wouldn't smell like the gourmand perfumes that existed at the time.

On the skin, it is warm, soft, very sweet, and a little nostalgic. If you're looking for a minimalist, quiet, or "clean" perfume, this probably isn't for you. If you love scents that make you want to bring your nose back to your own wrist – then it absolutely is.

Fragrantica: One user primarily senses the warmth of orange blossom combined with the soft, pleasant sweetness of marshmallow on their skin; others experience it much more intensely, as a true explosion of sugar, caramel, and marshmallow.
