Macaque Yuzu Edition

While people search for peace in the temple, macaques find it effortlessly — leaping through a forest where yuzu is squeezed over hinoki and frankincense. ZOOLOGIST Macaque Yuzu Edition combines citrus joy with an almost strict meditation.

Japanese yuzu, tangerine, and juniper berries open the extrait bitter, bright, and green. Yuzu is sharper than ordinary lemon, tangerine gives it a bit of juice, and juniper provides the aromatic coolness of a pine forest.

Myrrh and hinoki then slow down the composition. Hydrocarbon resin brings a contemporary, somewhat abstract edge, while olibanum gradually transforms the citrus opening into a more serious space of wood and smoke.

Mackenzie Reilly sets the story between two neighboring communities: the carefree monkeys in the treetops and the contemplative people of the temple. Humans envy their ease; macaques glance at them briefly and continue living.

Oakmoss absolute, New Caledonian sandalwood, and hyperabsolute of olibanum later create a darker, creamy-earthy base. The yuzu thins out, but its bitter light remains above the smoke.

Macaque Yuzu Edition is not an ordinary citrus perfume. It is yuzu among hinoki, myrrh, moss, and dense olibanum — a monkey's laughter heard through the temple's silence.
