Grapefruit Black Pepper Blackcurrant Atlas Cedarwood Frankincense Oakmoss Leather Sandalwood

Composed by Richard Ibanez

A ray of sunshine passes through the stone lace, but the courtyard behind it remains cold and jealously guards its own shadow. MAJDA BEKKALI Mudéjar - Clair translates this architectural play into grapefruit, pepper, leather, and frankincense.

Grapefruit, black pepper, and blackcurrant open the extrait bitterly, spicy, and tart. The citrus light is neither warm nor carefree; pepper and dark berry immediately give it a colder, mineral feel.

Atlas cedar and oakmoss build a dry, solid structure. Frankincense weaves through it like a ray through a perforated wall, while Asantal adds a smooth woody warmth without breaking the geometry.

Richard Ibanez finds inspiration in Mudéjar art of Andalusia from the 12th to the 16th century, a hybrid language where Islamic, Christian, and Jewish traditions merged. Minarets become bell towers, arabesques enter churches, and palaces hide Damascus courtyards.

Leather later darkens the wood, and frankincense on the leather becomes softer. Grapefruit recedes, but its bitter trace remains like a golden light on stone, contrasting with the mossy shadow.

Mudéjar - Clair is not a citrus "light" flanker. It is grapefruit caught in a lace of cedar, moss, frankincense, and leather — an Andalusian fortress that lets in only one audacious ray.
