Ombre

Shadow is not complete darkness; at its edge, bergamot, iris, and a thin line of vanilla are still visible. VERTUS Ombre constantly transitions between a bright aromatic opening and a deep base of resins, oud, and sandalwood.

Bergamot, oregano, and juniper open the composition with a bitter, green, and distinctly aromatic scent. Spices enhance the dryness, making the citrus appear like a brief ray of light at the edge of a darker space.

Labdanum and cedarwood then introduce a resinous, smoky-woody weight. Orris weaves a cool, powdery layer through them, giving the composition elegance without dispelling the shadow.

The formula is signed by Vertus Paris. Its strength lies in its transition, not in a grand twist: light and dark remain visible through each other throughout, as the aromatic top slowly merges with the resins.

Vanilla, oud, sandalwood, and musk later create a soft, warm base. The sweetness is controlled, oregano recedes, and labdanum remains a bridge between wood and leather.
