Composed by Angela Ciampagna
Oud and musk here are not a soft oriental mist, but a dark base over which raspberry, cumin, and bitter orange leave sharp traces. MAISON LABEL Oud & Musk carries the power of dry wood and leather, without embellishment by sweet decor.
Marigold and melangola, or bitter orange, open the composition green, floral, and sharp. Raspberry then adds red juiciness, but cumin and black pepper immediately push it towards a warmer, more bodily side.
Oud in the base takes on the main weight alongside vetiver and cedarwood. Leather enhances the dryness, amber introduces warmth, and musk smooths the edges without turning the formula into a clean, soapy trail.
Angela Ciampagna designed the perfume also as a solid foundation for layering. Olive Wood & Leather or Amber & Rosewood can increase its darkness, while Juniper Wood, Cannabis & Tobacco or Lily & Tangerine gain more depth over it.
On the skin, the raspberry gradually recedes, the cumin becomes quieter, and the oud, leather, and vetiver become increasingly serious. Musk and amber only soften the transition to a dry woody finish.
Oud & Musk is not for someone who wants a sweet, polished backdrop from oud. It is oud with raspberry, cumin, black pepper, leather, and earthy vetiver — a base strong enough to support almost any layer above it.
