Peach Milk Cereal Ginger Cardamom Creamy pudding Caramel Orris Vanilla Musk

Composed by Christian Carbonnel

A bowl of kids' cereal can end up in a very grown-up story. SARAH BAKER Pastel Rumours starts milky, peachy, and almost innocent, then reveals a musky confidence beneath the biscuits.

The peach in milk here is not a juicy summer fruit. It appears pastel, creamy, and hazy, while cardamom introduces a warm spiciness that prevents the entire opening from sliding into a flat sugary haze.

Christian Carbonnel then layers caramel, vanilla, and creamy biscuits into a dense gourmand texture. The association with colorful cereals gives the composition a mischievous, slightly artificial charm; this is not an attempt at a photorealistic pastry shop.

As time passes, biscuits, caramel, and musks become warmer and closer to the skin. The peach recedes into the background, but its velvety fruitiness remains in the cream like a faint pink shadow.

Don't get it if you're looking for coffee, dark chocolate, or roasted bitterness from a gourmand scent. Pastel Rumours is bright, milky, and intentionally playful, but the musk gives it enough body to not seem like a children's perfume.

The drydown leaves an unusual combination of crushed biscuit and warm skin—as if you've pulled the last colorful cereal flake from the pocket of an elegant coat.
