Composed by Bertrand Duchaufour

In the 17th century, Tavernier, Bernier, and Thévenot traveled to Mughal India, documenting its court, plants, jewels, and daily life. NEELA VERMEIRE RAHELE, whose name means traveler, imagines the encounter of East and West through the eyes of those driven by curiosity.

Green mandarin, cardamom, and violet leaf open the fragrance fresh, green, and refined. Cinnamon adds warmth to the opening but does not compromise its lightness.

Osmanthus leads the heart, surrounded by rose, violet, magnolia, iris, and jasmine. Its soft, fruity-floral texture feels graceful and somewhat abstract, like a memory of a place you’ve only seen once.

Leather then introduces a deeper tone, layered over oakmoss, sandalwood, and cedar. Patchouli concludes the scent dry and earthy, leaving a quiet, elegant trail.

Rahele is a 60ml Eau de Parfum signed by Bertrand Duchaufour. It's for you if you love nuanced, green-floral scents with leather and wood; it's not if you're looking for literal fruit, dense sweetness, or loud projection.

Fragrantica

This is wonderful. It possesses grace and balance; one senses that high-quality natural essences were used, and that it is a rather abstract composition which feels very refined. After the green and citrusy opening, in which cardamom is clearly discernible, the overall impression towards the drydown is the softness of osmanthus and the depth of leather and wood, with the freshness of cardamom woven into that softness, which lifts the perfume and gives it a greenish, slightly spicy piquancy.
