By sunrise, the drums have fallen silent, but your skin still smells of fire and herbs. ALMOST HUMAN Ritual Code is an extract about a night after which you're never quite the same, more an internal ritual than decorative smoke.
Smoked herbs arrive dry, aromatic, and scorched, like shaman's stalks just thrown into the flames. There's no citrus introduction to soften the scene; the entrance is directly into the center of the circle.
Goran Bajazetov guides the composition with the rhythm of a story: bodies dance with their own movements, but the same force pulls them from the earth. Warm resins give density to the fire, and dry earth provides the feeling of soil that returns the drum's beat underfoot.
As the night deepens, animal warmth and warm resins bring the scent closer to the body. The sensuality is neither refined nor clean; it recalls skin, fur, and breath among people moving around a fire.
On the skin, the smoke gradually subsides into pale ash, and the earth remains dry and still. If you want church incense, sweet resin, or a pleasant fireplace scent, this raw ritualistic corporeality might be too direct for you.
Ritual Code ends at dawn: the fading ash is still warm, the drum is gone, and a thin line of light reveals that the change has already occurred.
