Below the clouds, the air can be sharper than in a clear sky. THE GATE Sous Les Nuages opens with a triple citrus, mint, and rosemary, then descends into spices, rose, and a salty-mossy woody base.
Yuzu, bergamot, and lemon provide a quick, radiant, and tart opening. Rosemary and peppermint enhance the cool, aromatic sensation, like a gust of wind just before a change in weather.
Fady Adwan warms the composition in the middle with pink pepper, ginger, and thyme. Rose and jasmine enter between the spices, but they don't turn the scent into a classic bouquet; rather, they soften its sharp edges.
On the skin, guaiac, nagarmotha, and cedarwood create a dry, smoky structure. Mossy notes have a salty edge, while amber and musk leave a warm and lasting trail.
If you want a citrus that remains bright or a light aromatic water, this base will be too dark. Sous Les Nuages is best suited for when you appreciate the transition from cool light to earthy wood and don't mind a more serious finish.
Towards the end, yuzu remains like a pale lightning flash over guaiac and salty moss — the cloud has passed, but the air still carries the metallic tension of a storm.
