Sovereign

Rose and iris don't enter gently here; first, they are announced by two types of pepper, and then they are surrounded by oud and glowing myrrh. LE GALION Sovereign is an extract of sumptuous gesture, made to smell upright, spicy, and dark.

Black and pink pepper provide a dry, strong opening that almost sparkles in the nose. Rose and iris immediately behind them form a proud duo: rose brings fullness, iris a cool powdery distance.

Amelie Bourgeois & Anne-Sophie Behaghel place the composition in the historical framework of the house founded in the 1930s, when European Orientalism still shaped the Western image of the East. Sovereign does not hide this perspective but transforms it into a very Parisian notion of luxury and generosity.

In the warmth of the base, myrrh and oud burn alongside patchouli, cedar, and guaiac. Guaiac is particularly important: its smoky, sharp character provides a counterbalance to the rose and keeps the entire parade away from sweet floral luxury.

On the skin, the pepper gradually fades, but the resins and wood remain strong. If you desire an airy rose or a soft iris, Sovereign will be too authoritative for you; the extract does not lower its voice to be easier to wear.

In the drydown, the rose stands on guaiac, surrounded by myrrh and oud, while the last grain of pink pepper still flashes — a regal pose that does not settle even after hours.
