Before you see her, you hear the rhythm of her heels on Lexington Avenue. JUL ET MAD Stilettos on Lex is an extract of a fleeting appearance that, in a few steps, leaves more perfume and questions than an entire crowded street.
Lemon, pear, and davana open the composition bright, fruity, and slightly liqueur-like. Plum liqueur provides a darker sweetness, like a shadow accompanying a tall silhouette amidst city reflections.
Dorothée Piot layers lily of the valley, violet leaf, rose absolute, heliotrope, iris, and carnation in the heart. Iris and heliotrope give a powdery elegance, while carnation adds a spicy pulse, like the regular strike of a heel.
On the skin, musk, Madagascar vanilla, and patchouli blend with Atlas cedar. The fruity opening fades, but plum and iris remain as a nostalgic trace of something that has already passed.
If you're looking for a minimalist iris or light urban freshness, Stilettos on Lex will be too perfumed and theatrical. Its allure lies in the impression of a person who knows heads are turning but doesn't need to acknowledge it.
The finish leaves a powder of iris on cedar, with plum liqueur and the distant sound of heels — Lexington Avenue is once again full of people, but only one silhouette has left its own street of scents.
