Tubéreuse

Tuberose doesn't have to show all its splendor at once; it can first hide behind pear and pink pepper. LE GALION Tubéreuse opens the flower slowly, without overemphasized exoticism, and only with time does it become creamy and full.

Mandarin, galbanum, and pink pepper provide a bright, green, and spicy opening. Pear introduces a juicy softness, like a transparent veil in front of the white flower.

In 1937, Paul Vacher signed a floral trilogy in which Tubéreuse found itself between the very elegant Iris and the seductive Jasmin. It was a forerunner of many later perfumes with the same theme, bearing the distinctly feminine Le Galion signature.

Thomas Fontaine expands today's composition with rose, orange blossom, and raspberry. Tuberose, cedar, and amber become increasingly creamy on the skin, while musk rounds out the finish.

If you want a loud, almost rubbery tuberose, or a distinctly green version of the flower, this one will be too refined for you. It's not harmless either: pink pepper carries the excitement of an evening just beginning throughout.

In the end, tuberose remains in a corset of cedar and amber, with a drop of pear and pepper on the edge—a flower that waited several hours to show its entire silhouette.
