Vetyver

Vetiver doesn't grow in neat rows here; turmeric root, mastic, and violet leaf cut through it like wild vegetation. LE GALION Vetyver is dry, raw, and green, with a masculine energy that returns to the earth rather than old rules.

Black pepper and violet leaf open the composition acerbically, fresh, and almost metallic green. Pepper immediately provides momentum, while violet leaf introduces a damp herbaceous edge.

The original Vetyver was launched in 1968 with the description of “masculine flowers,” muscular, musky, fresh, and aerodynamic. Thomas Fontaine recomposed it in 2021 through the idea of sustainability and a more ethical masculinity that returns to the soil.

Turmeric root and leaf, and mastic build an unusually aromatic heart. Upcycled LMR turmeric uses both parts of the plant for a green and woody character, before vetiver and cedar take over the base.

On the skin, the initial pepper dries down, and the roots become more pronounced. If you're looking for a clean, citrusy vetiver or soft woody elegance, Vetyver will be too raw and herbaceous for you.

In the drydown, vetiver remains entwined with turmeric and cedar, with mastic on its toes — masculinity without polished shoes, with both feet back in the earth.
