Bergamot and grapefruit open the composition cleanly, bitterly, and brightly. The citrus is neither sporty nor carefree; it acts like a neat first impression before a more serious woody structure appears.

Luca Maffei reinterprets the mythical vetiver as a portrait of a contemporary gentleman, confident and refined, yet capable of softness. The idea is classic, but the contrast of freshness, leather, and smooth woods keeps it from museum-like stiffness.

On the skin, vetiver, guaiac, and cedar connect with cashmeran. Guaiac provides a smoky-leathery nuance, cedar dryness, and cashmeran a velvety warmth around the rooty vetiver.

If you want a very green vetiver or overtly animalic leather, Vetiver Cuir will be too polished for you. Its strength is not in ruggedness, but in carrying a strict line with enough sensibility.
