Composed by Tomislav Kordić
A forest under snow isn't silent; it just speaks in a lower voice. SORTILÈGE Whispers and Snow captures the crunch of frozen branches, the steam from a teacup, and the dark greenery visible only when eyes adjust to the winter night.
Black spruce and pine open the fragrance tightly and vertically, while mint tea weaves through them a coolness that is neither toothpaste nor sports gel. Blackcurrant leaf provides an astringent, somewhat wild green nuance; frozen berries occasionally shimmer.
Tomislav Kordić doesn't build a postcard with pine trees, but a forest with moisture, shade, and space. Canadian balsam and cedar thicken the trunks, vetiver grounds the roots deeper, and blackcurrant leaves a tart trail that prevents the composition from becoming resinously sweet.
As it warms up, the sharp frost eases, and transparent woods, linen, and leathery musk emerge. Cashmeran adds a soft warmth, like dry fabric pulled over cold hands, but the snowy air never quite leaves.
The development is more a change in distance than a complete scene change: first, you stand between frozen needles, then beside resinous trunks, and finally, a clean woody veil remains on your clothes. To a lover of sweet winter perfumes, it might seem too green and restrained.
Whispers and Snow carries the rhythm of a song from its story — nights whisper, days are white. Its most beautiful moment comes when black spruce and the scent of linen meet like a dark branch under fresh snow.
