Wisent

A sunny meadow can have broad shoulders. WOLF BROTHERS Wisent combines the airy greenness of grass with the weight of hay and acorns, making it feel open and strong like a European bison resting at the edge of a forest.

Blackcurrant leaf and blackberry leaf enter tartly, almost roughly, with grapefruit weaving a bitter flash through them. There's no juicy berry sweetness: green leaves and grapefruit are more reminiscent of crushed stalks on your fingers than a fruity dessert.

Valerie Bessone then expands the composition towards sun-warmed earth. Hay becomes the central texture — dry, golden, and slightly dusty — while grass retains its freshness. Acorns provide a nutty, woody robustness without entering into heavy forest darkness.

On the skin, this contrast beautifully reverses. The initial tartness slowly subsides, hay and acorns come to the forefront, and vanilla smooths the edges. It's not a glaze, but a warm color that shifts the meadow from morning shade to late afternoon.

Wisent is wearable and cheerful, but not sterilely fresh. If the smell of hay sounds too rustic to you or if you're looking for floral elegance without dirt under your nails, this dry, field-like aspect might bother you. It is precisely what gives it character.

The drydown leaves a grassy-vanilla warmth with a small bitter trace of grapefruit. It's the scent of a bison that isn't rushing through the forest: it stands in the open, calm, massive, and bathed in sunlight.
