Green leaves, Sicilian lemon, and bergamot open the composition crisply and clearly. The citrus is not sweet, but sharpens the greenery and creates the feeling of cooler morning air in the garden.
Osmanthus and iris change direction. Osmanthus can be reminiscent of apricot skin and light tea, while iris leaves a quiet, powdery layer over it.
Cedar and suede give the flower a soft framework, and musk and ambrox bring it closer to the body. The sillage is neither large nor heavy; it develops slowly and is best read up close.
17 Nandan Road comes as a 100 ml Eau de Toilette. It is for you if you like the contrast of cut greenery, soft flower, and suede; it is not if you expect osmanthus as a lush, sweet floral bouquet. This is not all of Shanghai, but one precisely remembered address.
