Monopteros

On a hill above Munich's English Garden stands the Monopteros, a circular temple with views over the treetops towards the city. DER DUFT Monopteros is not a literal scent of that place, but Anselm's unusual dedication to its contrasts.

Aldehydes and cucumber create a cool, almost soapy opening. Neroli and raspberry briefly illuminate it, but the composition deliberately resists a neat freshness.

Then creamy coconut, cool cucumber, and bitter coffee meet. No single note takes complete control: coconut is not a beach, coffee is not a pastry shop, and cucumber is not just refreshment.

Rose passes between nutmeg, black pepper, and cardamom. As the scent warms, it becomes darker and spicier, yet retains the unusual airiness of aldehydes.

The founder of the house, Anselm Skogstad, personally composed this 50 ml Parfum. Monopteros is for you if you enjoy a deliberate clash of creamy, cool, and spicy; if you want a harmonious coconut scent, it might strike you as cacophony. The view of Munich here is not a postcard, but a fragrant optical illusion.
