Love at first sight doesn't just smell of flowers; it changes body temperature and sharpens every touch. MIGUEL MATOS The Smell of Love is an extract of infatuation without distance, with tuberose at its heart and leather, cumin, and mushrooms just beneath it.
Bergamot provides a brief flash before tuberose takes over. It is white, creamy, and intoxicating, but not isolated in a vase; from the beginning, it is surrounded by the warmth of a living body.
Miguel Matos calls this autobiographical composition the most confidential and personal scent in the collection. It speaks of an emotion from which one cannot escape, of surrender, desire, and two people ready for a shared adventure.
Cumin, patchouli, and mushroom accord introduce an earthy, sweaty, and hypnotic depth. Musk and white musk soften the skin, while sandalwood, iris, and leather build a warm embrace around the flower.
On the skin, tuberose becomes more carnal rather than cleaner. If you are looking for a bright white floral perfume or if cumin quickly becomes too intimate for you, The Smell of Love will likely cross your boundary.
In the drydown, tuberose remains between two heated skins, with mushroom in the soil and iris on the edge — a love that is not an ideal image, but a changed chemistry of the entire body.
