Neandertal is a British avant-garde perfume house founded in London in 2018 by Kentaro Yamada. Through scent, it explores the origins of humanity, evolution, and the place of the human species in the broader universe. The story of Neanderthals, ancient people who inhabited Eurasia for hundreds of thousands of years, serves as a starting point for contemplating the connection between the distant past and an uncertain future.

The compositions deliberately step outside familiar perfume structures, treating scent as a philosophical and artistic object rather than a conventional luxury product. The distinctive bottles are shaped like prehistoric hand axes, one of the oldest human tools, combining traditional manufacturing processes with modern technology. On the skin, Neandertal does not reconstruct the past, but rather poses the question of what will remain of humanity one day.
